Saina Nehwal takes Kellogg’s breakfast pledge to kick off #Feedingdreams

Delhi, 2nd September, 2015: There are millions of Indians who have dreams. With the vision of fulfilling dreams of as many individuals, making them believe nothing is impossible and to motivate them, Kellogg’s has partnered with Saina Nehwal, who is a great achiever of her dreams. She commenced her journey like any other common person, but it was the right start to her day that made the difference, that helped feed her dreams.

Kellogg’s launched their thought provoking campaign ‘Bade Sapno Ki Sahi Shuruat’ #Feedingdreams which aims at educating everyone that a solid, nourishing grain based start to the day is the first step and can help ones dreams come true. Taking this a step further, Saina Nehwal, World’s No 1 badminton player kick started this year’s Kellogg’s breakfast pledge initiative and flagged off the Kellogg’s Breakfast Pledge van which will be travelling across the six metros educating people about the Power of Breakfast and taking breakfast pledges

This initiative encourages people to take a pledge to have breakfast every day. Through each pledge, every person will gift a breakfast to a child to help discover the power of breakfast. Last year, Kellogg India through its “Kellogg’s Breakfast Pledge” gifted 400,000 breakfasts to children across the six metros. Scaling up this initiative, this year the company will gift 1 million breakfasts to children.

Speaking at the occasion, Saina Nehwal shares, “Believe it or not, the right start to your day can do wonders. I believe in the power of breakfast which fuels my day, wakes me up, and gives me that long-lasting energy. I pledge to continue to having a balanced breakfast every day and I think it is important to make breakfast compulsory in schools, like the midday meals sponsored by the Government. I urge you all to take the Kellogg’s Breakfast Pledge to eat a solid grain based breakfast every morning. For every pledge received, Kellogg’s will gift a breakfast to a child in school.”

This campaign is a reiteration of Kellogg’s commitment of encouraging people to adopt a habit of eating a balanced breakfast every day. With an aim to make a difference by gifting 1million breakfasts to children, Kellogg, re-emphasizes it’s the purpose of nourishing families so that they can flourish and thrive. Kellogg aims to enrich and delight the world with foods and brands that matter.

The ‘India Breakfast Habits Study’ showed a whopping 72% Indians have a nutritionally inadequate breakfast. Post this revelation, Kellogg’s embarked on the Power of Breakfast Initiative with the intent of spreading the awareness about the importance of a balanced breakfast among Indians. ‘Bade Sapno Ki Sahi Shuruat’ #Feedingdreams is a campaign which re-emphasizes the importance of a balanced breakfast which enables you to start your day right.
